The Color of Warm

Chelsea chose to meet Simon at the little bistro not just so they could sit outside on the warm March day, but so that she could see her mark coming. Simon would be like all the others, taken in by her charm, her good looks, her body. She had every intention of taking him for every dollar she could get, which, judging by the expensive suit he was wearing, was likely to be a lot.

Simon sat down next to a beautiful blonde woman, but almost immediately his mind began to think of his wife. He thought of how she looked when he first met her. He thought of her smile, her hair, her gorgeous eyes, and how much he loved her.

Chelsea looked across the table and made eye contact with Simon.  Suddenly his expression changed. Almost immediately he got up and left. Chelsea was convinced, she would never see him again.

A week later Simon called to meet for dinner again. When they sat down to eat, Chelsea was confused. Simon seemed distant and aloof, not at all what she’d come to expect from her dates.  Distracted by the situation, neither of them saw the man in the pickup who had been following Chelsea. He watched them from a distance, he had his own plans for Chelsea and was determined to control her, or even destroy her.
