Optimism

IMG_1446.jpeg

Optimism is a giant tree

Without it dreams depart

Ignoring storms of naysayers

Which winters in our hearts

From autumns seed it grows in life

The gales of failures test

Bent in stress it's trunk grows strong

Each tempest impacts less

Spring bears leaf of victory

Blooming self-assuredness

Roots drive deep and plant its feet

Focused solely on success

Its branches reach to all around

It shades from summers drought

The heat of fear that whispers "quit"

It cools such arid doubt

Watered by the rain of friends

Who yard their own great tree

And mantras to your inner soul

Of amazing efficacy

Till comes the day long waited for

When dreams are there to see

And none recall that this great feat

Was provided mostly by the tree
